Total Pure Black Wallpaper
Purity, totalled — strict #000000 fills, ultra-black mobile pieces, solids without a single compromise pixel. The absolutist shelf. Free downloads; sign in to post.
Total and pure stack into the strictest brief on the site, and the files honour it: solid blacks with no gradient, no vignette, no secret texture — the kind you verify by turning brightness to maximum and finding nothing. On OLED panels they read as the screen being off; on LCD they expose backlight honesty. Tall and wide both stocked. Long-press on a phone or right-click on a desktop, save, then set it from your settings. Free for personal use.
Common questions
Do black wallpapers actually save battery?
On OLED and AMOLED screens, yes. A true-black (#000000) pixel is switched off rather than dimmed, so it draws no power — and with an always-on display that runs all day the difference is measurable. On an LCD screen it saves nothing, because the backlight stays on either way. Not sure which you have? Our OLED test tool fills the screen with pure black: on an OLED it goes completely dark, on an LCD you can still see the backlight glowing grey.
