A wallpaper at the wrong resolution gets stretched, blurred, or cropped. Manufacturers publish the "logical resolution" (what CSS sees) but the actual "device pixels" are often 2-3x larger. Our detector reports both so you know exactly what size wallpaper to download for pixel-perfect sharpness.
Browsers report CSS pixels, not physical pixels. Multiply by your device pixel ratio (shown below) to get the true hardware resolution — we already do that math for you in the physical resolution row.
The width-to-height proportion of your screen — 16:9 for most desktops, 19.5:9 for modern phones, 21:9 for ultrawides. Wallpapers matching your aspect ratio never get cropped.
At least your physical resolution. Larger is fine (it gets scaled down sharply); smaller gets stretched and looks soft.
