Studio Black Wallpaper
Studios in black — a blackout photo studio, music-desk setups with headphones and microphones, a monochrome hip-hop session, Ubuntu Studio's dark stock. Free downloads.
Studio black is a working aesthetic — the colour rooms are painted when what happens inside matters more than the walls. The shelf keeps both kinds: photography studios done in full blackout, music setups where headphones and microphones carry the frame, a monochrome session shot with real atmosphere, and the Ubuntu Studio stock dark for the Linux crowd. Tall, wide and square frames all appear. Long-press or right-click to save, then set it from your settings. Free for personal use.
Common questions
Do black wallpapers actually save battery?
On OLED and AMOLED screens, yes. A true-black (#000000) pixel is switched off rather than dimmed, so it draws no power — and with an always-on display that runs all day the difference is measurable. On an LCD screen it saves nothing, because the backlight stays on either way. Not sure which you have? Our OLED test tool fills the screen with pure black: on an OLED it goes completely dark, on an LCD you can still see the backlight glowing grey.
