Solid Black Vertical Wallpaper
Solids standing upright — vertical black fills, matte texture strips, tall darks cut for phones and portrait monitors alike. Orientation as the feature. Free downloads.
Vertical is the operative word: these solids and near-solids come tall by design — phone-first fills, matte texture strips, portrait cuts that also serve the growing tribe of rotated second monitors. No cropping gymnastics, no wide file squeezed sideways. Tall frames lead the count as promised. Long-press the image on a phone, or right-click on a desktop with a portrait display, then set it from your settings. Free for personal use, nothing watermarked.
Common questions
Do black wallpapers actually save battery?
On OLED and AMOLED screens, yes. A true-black (#000000) pixel is switched off rather than dimmed, so it draws no power — and with an always-on display that runs all day the difference is measurable. On an LCD screen it saves nothing, because the backlight stays on either way. Not sure which you have? Our OLED test tool fills the screen with pure black: on an OLED it goes completely dark, on an LCD you can still see the backlight glowing grey.
