Landscape Solid Black Wallpaper
Both meanings of landscape — wide-format solid blacks for monitors, and actual landscapes in monochrome: mountains, lone trees, a lake under a black sky. Free to download.
The word landscape splits this gallery in two, and both halves deliver. One half is orientation: solid and near-solid blacks in wide format, ready for a monitor without cropping. The other half is scenery: black-and-white mountains, a tree against an empty sky, water photographed so dark it reads as ink. The scenery pieces make unusually calm desktops — real places with all the noise drained out. Wide frames dominate as the name promises, with a modest tall section for phones. Long-press or right-click to save your pick, then set it from your settings. Free for personal use.
Common questions
Do black wallpapers actually save battery?
On OLED and AMOLED screens, yes. A true-black (#000000) pixel is switched off rather than dimmed, so it draws no power — and with an always-on display that runs all day the difference is measurable. On an LCD screen it saves nothing, because the backlight stays on either way. Not sure which you have? Our OLED test tool fills the screen with pure black: on an OLED it goes completely dark, on an LCD you can still see the backlight glowing grey.
