A TV is viewed from three metres, not fifty centimetres, which changes what works: fine detail disappears at that distance while banding in a gradient becomes more obvious, not less. Large, simple, high-quality files are the right choice, and that is what this gallery keeps. Two TV-specific notes — many sets crop a few percent at the edges (overscan), so avoid pieces with detail right at the border, and on an OLED TV a static bright element left on screen for hours risks burn-in, which is a real argument for dark wallpaper. Common questions
Do black wallpapers actually save battery?
On OLED and AMOLED screens, yes. A true-black (#000000) pixel is switched off rather than dimmed, so it draws no power — and with an always-on display that runs all day the difference is measurable. On an LCD screen it saves nothing, because the backlight stays on either way. Not sure which you have? Our OLED test tool fills the screen with pure black: on an OLED it goes completely dark, on an LCD you can still see the backlight glowing grey.
