1440p Solid Black Wallpaper
Solid blacks that survive 1440p — high-res plain fields, black leather minimal pieces, a castle in monochrome. For sharper panels where cheap solids show their banding. Free downloads.
A solid black sounds impossible to get wrong until a 1440p panel reveals the banding in a badly compressed one. The files here are kept at resolutions and quality that stay smooth on a 27-inch screen — plain fields first, then the near-solids: black leather grain, a monochrome castle floating in fog, minimal pieces with one white detail. Wide cuts rule the set, which fits its desk-first purpose. Right-click the full-size file, Save image as, then set it as your desktop background — or long-press if you are grabbing one for a phone anyway. Free for personal use.
Common questions
Do black wallpapers actually save battery?
On OLED and AMOLED screens, yes. A true-black (#000000) pixel is switched off rather than dimmed, so it draws no power — and with an always-on display that runs all day the difference is measurable. On an LCD screen it saves nothing, because the backlight stays on either way. Not sure which you have? Our OLED test tool fills the screen with pure black: on an OLED it goes completely dark, on an LCD you can still see the backlight glowing grey.
How do I set one as my wallpaper?
Long-press on mobile or right-click on desktop to save the image, then set it from your gallery or system wallpaper settings.
